Spiritual power is the greatest underdeveloped power and has the greatest future.
~ Thomas Alva Edison

Everything is laid out for you.
Your path is straight ahead of you.
Sometimes it’s invisible, but it’s there.
You may not know where it’s going.
But, you have to follow that path.
It’s the path to the creator. It’s the only path there is.
~ Chief Leon Shenandoah

The universe is sacred.
You cannot improve it.
If you try to change it, you will ruin it.
If you try to hold it, you will lose it.
So sometimes things are ahead and sometimes they are behind,
Sometimes breathing hard, sometimes it comes easily,
Sometimes there is strength and sometimes weakness,
Sometimes one is up and sometimes down.
Therefore the sage avoids extremes, excesses and complacency.
~ Lao Tzu

Neither giving nor taking
Neither for nor against
Leave your mind at rest
With perceptions remain unconcerned
The Great Way is a mind open to everything that clings to nothing which fixates nowhere radiant and stainless
Rest in the unmoved, uncreated and spontaneous and you will soon reach Buddhahood.
~ Tilopa

From Tao Te Ching
Thirty Three.

Knowing others
Knowing the self is enlightenment.
Mastering others requires force,
Mastering the self requires strength.
He who knows he has enough is rich
Perseverance is a sign of will-power.
He who stays where he is endures.
To die but not to perish is to be eternally present.

The wise student hears of the Tao and practices it diligently.
The average student hears of the Tao and gives it thought now and then.
The foolish student hears of the Tao and laughs aloud.
If there were no laughter, the Tao would not be what it is.

Hence it is said:
The bright path seems dim,
Going forward seems like retreat,
The easy way seems hard,
The highest Virtues seem empty,
Greatest purity seems sullied,
A wealth of Virtue seems inadequate,
The strength of Virtue seems frail,
Real Virtue seems unreal,
The perfect square has no corners,
Great talents ripen late,
The highest notes are hard to hear,
The greatest form has no shape,
The Tao is hidden and without name;
The Tao alone nourishes and brings everything to fulfillment.
~ Lao Tzu

I know of no other single thing so conducive to misery as this uncultivated, untrained mind.
I know of no other single thing so conducive to well being as this cultivated and well-trained mind.
~ Buddha

The true task of spiritual life is not found in faraway places or unusual states of consciousness. It is here in the present. It asks of us a welcoming spirit to greet all that life presents to us with a wise, respectful, and kindly heart. We can bow to both beauty and suffering, to our entanglements and confusion, to our fears and to the injustices of the world. Honoring the truth in this way is the path to freedom.
~ Jack Kornfield

To do no harm,
To cultivate the good and wholesome,
To purify heart and mind,
This is the teaching of the Enlightened One.
~ Buddha

If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower and everyone in our family, in our entire society will benefit from our peace.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Every divine image remains an image; every vision tempts us to hold on to it. To be really free, there is no option except to be yourself. You are the living center around which every event happens, yet no event is so important that you willingly give yourself up to it. By being yourself you open the door to what is, the never-ending play of cosmic intelligence curving back to know itself again and again. In this way life remains fresh and fulfills its need to renew itself at every moment.
~ Deepak Chopra

Our soul makes constant noise, but it has a silent place we never hear. When the silence of God enters us, pierces our soul and joins its silent secret place, then God is our treasure and our heart. And space opens before us like a fruit that breaks in two. Then we see the universe from a point beyond space.
~ Simone Weil

Man is the only animal for whom his own existence is a problem, which he has to solve.
~ Erich Fromm

...We call upon those who have lived upon this earth
Our ancestors and our friends, who dreamed the best for future generations
And upon who our lives are built
And with thanksgiving, we call upon them to teach us and show us the way.
And lastly, we call upon all that we hold most sacred
The presence and power of The Great Spirit of love and truth which flows through all the universe
To be with us to teach us and show us the way.
~ Chinook Blessing

The Self is a joy to Love. There is this deep river of peace that flows through the heart of every one of us, still waters that connect is all. There is no distinction between loving ourselves and loving another. There is nothing to choose between because the Self that we are is the Self that unites us to all living things.
~ Hugh Prather

Better than a thousand useless words is one word, which brings peace.
Better than a thousand useless verses is one line, which brings joy.
Better than a thousand useless poems is one poem that brings love.
One day of contemplation is better than a hundred words of thoughtlessness.
One day of wisdom is better than a hundred years of ignorance.
One day of effort is better than a hundred years of laziness.
~ Dhammapada (Words of the Buddha)

The Great way has no gate; there are a thousand paths to it. If you pass through the barrier, you walk the universe alone.
~ Wu-Men

I ask all blessings, I ask them with reverence of my mother the earth, of the sky, moon, and sun my father, I am old age: the essence of life, I am the source of all happiness, All is peaceful, All in beauty, All in harmony, All in Joy.
~ Navaho Prayer

Each of us in our own way can try to spread compassion into people’s hearts. Western civilizations these days place great importance on filling the human "brain" with knowledge, but no one seems to care about filling the human "heart" with compassion. This is what the real role of religion is.
~ HH, The Dalai Lama

Serenity isn't freedom from the storm, but peace within the storm.
~ Spiritual maxim

Men cannot see their reflection in running water, but only in still water.
Only that which is itself still can still the seekers of stillness.

And the more souls who resonate together the greater the intensity of their love and, mirror like, each soul reflects the other.
~ Dante

God is extremely accessible. And is always with us. Perhaps the simplest thing is that He can’t be with us. As the source of existence, He must be present where anything else exists. So that if you have any doubts about it, you simply have to say, "Am I here?" If the answer is yes, then God must be here, too.
~ Thomas Keating

He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord and He will repay him for his good deed.
~ Proverbs 19:17

It is by dealing with what you are, what you find in front of you, and by being responsible for your actions, that you go beyond the need to experience the challenge of negativity. Once you totally accept the fact that you, not fate control your life, a door opens silently within you and, without you realizing it at first, you begin a higher evolution.
~ Stuart Wilde, The from the book The Force

Nothing endures but change.
~ Heraclitus

My soul longs to know you again; I stand here hoping for a sign, hoping for a thread to hold on to ... My sight has grown dim searching for you. When will you come? When will you show yourself to me? I may shrivel up like a wineskin, I may be hounded by countless lies, I may be swept from the face of this earth, but I will never turn away from you. What is there to live for if not your undying love? O Lord come alive in my heart ~ Come alive so that we may, once again, be as one.
~ Psalm 119
